Aimee Louise Sword, a 35-year-old Michigan woman was jailed after she allegedly did something the town of Waterford will likely not forget.

According to Waterford Township Police, Sword used the Internet to connect with the son she gave up for adoption more than 10 years ago. She then seduced her son into a meeting, where she allegedly had sex with him. The boy is an underage minor.

Police have not confirmed if the boy knew the woman was his mother, however legal contact between the boy and Sword was allowable under limited conditions, according to records.

Investigators say Sword began a sexual relationship with the boy in the summer of 2008. Police learned of the allegations in the fall of 2008 after they were contact by Child Protective Services.

Sword allegedly communicated with the boy using a Myspace under the name Aimee Pope. The account presented numerous photos of herself. Several of her photos were captured before she deleted her account.

Sword surrendered to Waterford Police on April 24th, after a warrant was issued for arrest. She was arraigned the same day.

Sword was originally booked into jail on a three counts of sexual assault. A judge threw out two counts, allowing one charge of 3rd-degree sexual assault to go forward. She was released on a $3,000 bond Wednesday morning.

Sword's attorney, Kenneth Burch, said that his client pleaded not guilty. A pre-trail hearing was set for Sept. 21.

"Anybody would be distraught and she is because of the allegations she is faced with," said Burch. "She's meeting this head on."

The entire mental health community is outraged, appalled, and horrified by the prospects these allegations may hold for the underage boy. Psychiatrists are concerned that if the allegations are true, the damage to the boy could be long-lasting - Especially if this is the boy's 1st sexual experience.
